K-GCED Certification Programme
The K-GCED Certification Program of the Institute for Future Sustainable Development (IFSD) is a dual-track leadership initiative developed based on Korea’s development experience and UNESCO’s Global Citizenship Education (GCED) principles. Designed for both learners and educators, the program fosters the formation of global citizenship identity, strengthens core competencies, and cultivates leaders who drive sustainable social change through action-oriented civic engagement projects.

This program is structured as a two-level certification system, with separate tracks for learners and educators.


Certificate Level 2: Global Citizenship Certificate for Learners
Certificate Level 2 is a civic-based global citizenship leadership program designed for young adults aged 18–30. This course aims to cultivate essential competencies for the global era—such as critical thinking, intercultural communication, and systems thinking—while guiding participants to lead sustainable change through hands-on civic engagement projects.
Delivered in a hybrid format (online and offline), the 8–10 week intensive program enables learners to reflect on their identity and role as global citizens and to develop practical leadership by addressing real-world challenges at both local and global levels.

The program is structured around five core learning goals.

- Develop essential skills: critical thinking, intercultural communication, and systems thinking
- Apply GCED principles through issue-based civic action projects
- Shape personal identity rooted in empathy, accountability, and sustainability

Curriculum Overview
1. GC Foundation – Building Global Citizenship Identity
Learners explore the historical and philosophical foundations of global citizenship and engage in self-reflection on their moral responsibility and social role.

2. GC Knowledge – Understanding Global Issues
This module deepens learners’ understanding of structural global challenges such as inequality, human rights, and environmental sustainability.
