Position Title: Internship – Institute for Future Sustainable Development (IFSD)
Type: Non-paid, voluntary position
Location: Remote
Duration: Flexible (minimum 6 months commitment recommended)

About IFSD

The Institute for Future Sustainable Development (IFSD) is a non-profit public interest organization based in the Republic of Korea, dedicated to promoting inclusive and equitable education, gender equality, and sustainable leadership development. Through our flagship K-GCED Programme, we equip youth and educators with the skills, knowledge, and values to become responsible global citizens.


Role Overview

Volunteers at IFSD will support various initiatives, including event coordination, research assistance, program delivery, and outreach activities. The role offers opportunities to contribute to meaningful projects aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while gaining valuable experience in the nonprofit and international education sectors.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and implementing IFSD events, conferences, and webinars.
  • Support research projects, including data collection, translation, and reporting.
  • Contribute to program coordination and communications (social media, newsletters, etc.).
  • Engage with local and international partners to promote IFSD initiatives.
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Commitment to IFSD’s mission and values.
  • Ability to dedicate agreed hours per week to assigned tasks.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in English, Korean or other languages are an asset.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work collaboratively.

Completion & Recognition

  • Probationary Period: All internships begin with a 3-month probationary period to assess performance, commitment, and alignment with IFSD values.
  • Certificate of Completion: Issued to interns who successfully complete at least 6 months of service with satisfactory performance after the probationary period.
  • Recommendation Letter: May be provided to interns completing 1 year of service with consistently outstanding performance and contributions.
  • Recognition is granted at IFSD’s discretion, based on the intern’s demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and impact on assigned projects.

 

Media & Publicity Consent

By participating in the IFSD Internship Program, interns agree that photographs, video recordings, and other media captured during internship activities may be used by IFSD for purposes including, but not limited to, promotional materials, the IFSD website, social media platforms, activity reports, and other organizational publications. Such use will be in accordance with IFSD’s mission and values, and no financial compensation will be provided for the use of such media.

 

Termination Process

Either the intern or IFSD may terminate the internship engagement at any time with prior written notice (recommended minimum: two weeks).
Termination may occur in the following cases:

  • Completion of the agreed service period.
  • Mutual agreement between the intern and IFSD.
  • Breach of IFSD’s policies, code of conduct, confidentiality obligations, or non-disclosure agreements.
  • Engaging in acts that defame, harm, or undermine the reputation of IFSD, its members, or its partners.
  • Persistent non-performance of assigned duties without valid reason.

     

In cases of serious misconduct including but not limited to the unauthorized disclosure of confidential information, intentional damage to IFSD’s reputation, or any form of harassment—IFSD reserves the right to take immediate termination action and pursue legal remedies under applicable laws.

Upon termination, interns must return all IFSD materials or property and complete a proper handover of ongoing tasks.

2. Review: The Administrative & HR Team will review applications.

3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be possibly invited to an online interview.

4. Offer & Agreement: Selected candidates will receive the Volunteer Agreement for e‑signature.

5. Onboarding: Upon signing, the officer will confirm your role and official start date.
